Best of 2016 Wedding Photography
As another year ends and a brand spanking new 2017 begins, it’s time to share some of my favourite images from my 2016 wedding photography.
2016 took off with me trading under my own name, an idea that I was originally hesitant about pursuing. The logo and URL finally went live and overnight my business had a whole new identity – it felt much more refined and a lot more ‘me’.
Partly because of that, I believe 2016 has been one of my favourite years as a wedding photographer. It’s funny that I’m forever asked by weddings guests “gosh, it must get boring seeing the same sights every week?” But when you witness the sights through my eyes and the places I get to visit, it’s a job I’ll never tire of doing.
Last year saw me travel far and wide across the UK for some of my most memorable weddings. From Anglesey in Wales, to the Lake District in Cumbria, the Derbyshire Dales, West Yorkshire and to a little farm called “heaven” in Sussex, just to name a few. 2016 saw me photograph my first lesbian wedding complete with their bow-tie-wearing dog, an outdoor ceremony in Delamere Forest with an exit jump over a light sabre (Oh yeah!) and chasing the last of the sunlight for that perfect sunset shot in the cornfields. Over the year, I’ve clocked up thousands of miles travelling, witnessed a guest split their pants whilst air guitaring, ate Tacos as the wedding meal, photographed hilarious “welly wanging”, stayed in a few premier inns and even met a few llamas up in Lancashire. So yep, it’s been one hell of a year.. and no, not even for a second was it ever boring!
To my 2016 couples, the biggest thank you/ high five/ fist bump for letting me into your day and photographing some truly epic and personal memories. You were all absolutely amazing and I’m super lucky to be able to carry on this adventure.
Here’s to a rockin’ 2017!
