Storrs Hall Wedding – The Lake District
During the summer, I had the pleasure of photographing Kay & Chris’s Lake District wedding at Storrs Hall, a beautiful Georgian mansion surrounded by private gardens and it’s own jetty overlooking Windermere.
Colourful summer wedding
The couple opted for pastel colours featured around their venue, including fresh flowers and handmade origami birds hanging from the foyer ceiling. Even their cat’s portraits were included, situated at the front of the ceremony room.
I began my morning with the girls getting ready in the bridal suite. Everyone was extremely relaxed, with Kay having her hair and makeup done overlooking the views of the lake. After the ceremony, guests went outside for drinks whilst listening to the jazz band playing in the sunshine. We had the most amazing weather for portraits and I sneaked the couple into the woodland so they could take some time away and enjoy the views across the waterfront.
Boat ride across Lake Windermere
As we headed down to the jetty, the couple were greeted with masses of dried flowers for a huge confetti throw. Everyone was full of excitement as they got onboard the boat ready for a ride across the lake, soaking in the views.
What a magnificent day, full of sunshine for these two. I couldn’t have asked for a better crowd to hang out with. Kay and Chris’s family were so welcoming and we had lots of laughs throughout the day. We even made time for some golden hour photos just as the sun was setting across Lake Windermere.. the perfect ending to their wedding! Here are some of my favourites..
