Barn wedding venues near Manchester
Are you on the search for the perfect rustic venue or maybe a natural setting close to the countryside? A wedding barn may be on your list. They’re the ideal backdrop for injecting creativity and personal touches. Go bold with a festival theme full of colour or keep it minimal with simple boho styling. Here are some of the best barn wedding venues that aren’t far from Manchester that I absolutely love..
Owen House Wedding Barn
A family run venue catered for full day weddings, Owen House offers a unique setting for your ceremony and a barn reception to wow your guests. You’ll find many areas for photos, including an indoor hay bale stack and wooded backdrop full of festoon lights. As the sun starts to go down in the evening, you can take advantage of the fields for capturing some beautiful images. This Cheshire venue has everything you need, including onsite accommodation and it’s own pre-wedding prep room. You can view a full Owen House Wedding here.
Rivington Hall Barn
If you’re looking for a traditional English barn, Rivington Barn has the wow factor and a really romantic feel!
Walking into this Grade II listed venue, you immediately notice the high ceilings and wooded-beams filled with fairy lights. Close to motorway and railway links to Manchester, the barn is surrounded by fields and woodland, offering great opportunities for photographs.

The Wellbeing Farm
If the idea of a farm wedding with llamas in bow ties sparks excitement for you, the Wellbeing Farm should be your first choice!
Advertised as a place for fun and quirky weddings, couples can choose between an outdoor ceremony or within the barn surrounded by hay bales and twinkling lights. Fancy a selfie with a llama? No problem! There are a whole host of animals on the farm that love saying hello. This venue has everything you’ll need for the perfect rustic wedding, even an outdoor tipi and fire pit. Meols Hall Tithe Barn
What better way to exchange your vows than in a beautiful 400 year old barn. Situated in Southport, Meols Hall is a little over an hour away from Manchester. The venue offers a large courtyard, a coachhouse perfect for hosting drinks as well as the wedding barn for the reception. Couples will be spoilt for choice with the stunning grounds and woodland for having photos. It really is the perfect setting and I’ve always loved photographing weddings here.
Thornsett Fields Farm
Looking for an authentic farm wedding venue? Thornsett Fields Farm is the ideal place set on the outskirts of the Peak District and less than an hour away from Manchester.
Although this venue is fairly new on the wedding scene, the farm has everything you need for a relaxed reception. Added bonus of being on a working farm… farm animals of course! Couples have the chance to meet baby chicks, lambs and their famous resident sheep, Mabel, who loves being in photos.

Located within the Forest of Bowland, Wyresdale Park is such a charming venue that you’ll be dying to book a visit! The venue consists of 3 barns, hosting the full day from ceremony until dancing, a glamping site of bell tents for guests and a beautiful lakeside view.
The white barn is an ideal blank canvas for any colour scheme, with hanging festoon lights and a balcony for extra guests. What I love most about this venue are the amazing grounds and opportunities for photos. Take a walk through the woodland, visit the greenhouse cafe or check out the beautiful scenery across the lake. Not to be missed!
