It was my first time photographing a Kirklinton Hall wedding and what a memorable day this was! It’s always such a pleasure working in Cumbria; the cinematic landscapes and rollings hills provides an incredible backdrop for weddings. Emma & Thomas travelled all the way from Alaska, USA, to celebrate their wedding at Emma’s sister’s lovingly restored venue surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Kirklinton Hall is a beautiful setting for a relaxed summer wedding, surrounded by wonderfully kept gardens, beautiful old ruins, open countryside and the lovingly restored hall, it has everything you need for a wedding that feels effortlessly romantic and completely your own. There are so many corners of the venue to explore and plenty of space to make the day feel relaxed and unhurried, just what Emma & Thomas had wanted from their celebration.

A personal outdoor ceremony

With the sun shining, they exchanged vows in a relaxed outdoor ceremony before exploring the grounds of Kirklinton for confetti and portraits. The atmospheric ruins provided the most beautiful backdrop for photos as their guests enjoyed drinks and games in the sunshine.

A truly special wedding, made even more meaningful by celebrating somewhere so close to family. ✨
